Llantrisant Male Choir was proud to welcome our friends from Crécy en Ponthieu to Llantrisant and kick off the twinning weekend between the two towns on Friday February 27 2015.
The concert was part of the events of the twinning weekend between the towns of Llantrisant and Crécy en Ponthieu which culminated in the signing of a "declaration of friendship" on St Davids Day.
The choir sang a selection of Welsh Hymn's and contemporary songs including Myfanwy, O Gymru, Skyfall and Everything i Do (I do it for you).
Ted Tidman, Chairman of Llantrisant Male Choir, is seen welcoming new members into the choir.
The Llanharan Songsters sadly disbanded after Christmas due to dwindling support. Ted said that unfortunately it is very difficult to recruit new members into choral singing due to the commitment needed for practice and engagements. The two choirs’, along with Musical Director Matthew Nash, have had connections over many years and it was an obvious move for the boys to continue with their friends just up the road and join Llantrisant.
It was also a big boost for Llantrisant, which now brings their membership up to 50. This would also allow the choir to take on bigger challenges and foreign tours with confidence.
