WHAT WILL YOU DO?
What a busy time!
Christmas.
Yes it is!
For us some 2000 years after the first Christmas it is still a very busy time. Now you may think that a bit of a strange statement to make, but let’s remind ourselves of some facts that we are so familiar with.

Consider that deep mystery so simply related by Luke about the Incarnation and what we now call the Virgin birth. Mary and Joseph have to leave Nazareth to get to Bethlehem in order to be registered for tax purposes. When they arrive at Bethlehem the town is packed. No room at the inn.

What a busy time!

Far far away in the East a group of men notice an unusual star. I think it is right to call them wise men because they realised the great significance of this star and determined to follow it. They knew it was related to the birth of a child who was the real King of kings. Look at the question they ask when they reach Jerusalem. It is found in Matthew’s Gospel chapter 2

NKJ Matthew 2:2 saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him."

They are told of the prophecy that the Messiah is to be born in Bethlehem. They leave and the Star guides them to where Mary, Joseph and Jesus are staying.

What do they do? They worship Jesus. Many people in Jerusalem knew of the visit by the wise men but never went to find their new born King. Were they too busy?

Will you go out of your way to find Jesus this Christmas? Or are you too busy?

I would like to say come to Gilead this Christmas season and you too will find Him, but we at Gilead cannot guarantee that. That is a matter of faith between you and God.

But we can put you in the right direction.
