Christmas Fayre 2009

We had our annual Christmas Fayre which included a visit of Father Christmas. He let me take a photograph of him sitting in his grotto. He was a bit tired as lots of children came to talk with him. As you can see from the pictures people of all ages came and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Stallholders worked hard to set up their tables with loads of high quality items for sale. The visitors who came were great and bought lots.

Our ladies who looked after the kitchen decided that all refreshments were to be free but people were welcome to donate as they ate and drank. They were very generous.

We are a community chapel and do not organise such events for ourselves so we are sending £400 to the Sandville Self Help Centre, Kenfig.

Established by Sister Gwyneth Poacher SRN MBE in 1985, the Sandville is funded entirely by charitable donations and run largely by volunteers. It is dedicated to caring for the seriously ill and improving their quality of life in a loving, relaxed and happy environment.

Our Christingle service will be held on the 15th December and donations then will be used to help the children’s charity LATCH.

Thank you very much for all those who joined us in our Christmas Fayre. We at Gilead chapel look forward to meeting up with you again on 15th Dec and the 20th for our Christmas carol service.
