Message: I was delighted to visit your webpage as suggested by Keith Johnson.I live in New Smyrna Beach, FL and had the opportunity in 2003 to reside six months in Bridgend, worshiping at Hope Baptist.

One of the highlights of Wales was her beautiful chapels, churches and cathedrals, both old and new so I'm hoping I'll be able to come by Gilead Chapel when I return to Wales.

Message: Dear Keith, you built your homepage, presented and programmed it with the skill of a modern computerwhiz teenager. Congratulations! Keep ever so young. When you will grow older though.

I trust you will add a complete physical address to the contact page, comprehensible to us the "non-Welsh" and "non-British." Who knows who might be inspired to visit your services or at least send you something more consistent than an email.

Name: Mark Watkins
Message: Hi there everyone!

My name is Mark Watkins and I attend ABC Church in Ammanford.

I am posting this message on here to say a massive "thank you" to Colin Lewis and everyone involved with Gilead. You kindly sponsored me recently to undertake the Water Aid UK Six Peaks Challenge. Let me explain:

In July I undertook what was probably the most physically demanding challenge that I have ever faced by attempting to climb the highest peak in every province of the UK in just 72 hrs.

The peaks were in order:
Snaefell - Isle of Man
Snowdon - Wales
Scaffell Pike - England
Ben Nevis - Scotland
Slieve Donnard - N. Ireland
Carrantoohill - Republic of Ireland

The 72 hrs included all travelling and climbing, so quite a challenge. It involved one flight, three ferry crossings and over 1850 miles of driving. Oh, and there was the small matter of climbing 6 mountains also! Added to that was the fact we slept for probably 3-4 hrs in toal over the weekend and ate nothing but chocolate bars, health bars and bananas.

The challenge was to raise funds for WaterAid, a charity that helps with supplying clean drinking water to unfortunate people in under developed countries. Did you know that a chld dies every 15 seconds through drinking unclean, contaminated water? Incredible, and deeply distressing isn't it that in 2007 this can still be the case.

If you would like to see more of that WatrerAid is all about then feel free to visit www.wateraid.org.uk

However, if it wasn't for the kind heartedness and Christian spirit of people like yourselves sponsoring us to do this, it would have been to no avail other than to prove what how fit and indeed crazy we were.

So, can I on behalf of everyone involved thank you sincerely for your kind donation and pray God's blessing on you as individuals and as a chapel.

Thank you and God bless you all!

Mark Watkins

Message: Gilead Chapel.
Thank you for visiting our web site. We hope that you have found it interesting and trust that you will visit the site at again as we intend to update it at regular intervals.

We have one prime motive which is not driven by financial, political or social concerns, important as they are. Rather, our deep concern is spiritual.

Yes, we want people to come to our church. Yes, we would like to see large numbers joining us in our meetings; but we want to preach Biblical sermons so that Christians will thank God for their salvation and non Christians will come to recognise Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour through the work of the Holy Spirit.

If you come to Gilead Chapel, we will welcome you with open hearts and open arms, so that we may worship together and watch God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit at work.

Keith

Have you seen whether local midwives would be interested in using the hall for a scheme known as 'first point of contact'. This could open the hall use for families with children.
